American Indians in Books for Children and Teens

American Indians in Books for Children and Teens Online

Learn about how popular and classic books for kids and teens contribute to both the education and the misunderstandings of who Native peoples were in the past and who they are in the present day. Tribally enrolled at Nambé Owingeh, a sovereign Native Nation in the southwest, Dr. Debbie Reese will discuss how fiction and non-fiction books in children’s and young adult literature can be read, evaluated and used to provide accurate and reliable information about Native peoples in Minnesota and elsewhere. Registration required. Geared for adults and youth ages 12 and older. A Minnesota legacy program.
